Tokon Kai Karate Overview
​
Tokon Kai Karate has been established and run by full time professionally qualified instructors for over 20 years in South East Essex. Classes are available 5 days a week, across different locations.
​
Tokon Kai Karate teaches the traditional style of Shotokan Karate. The lessons are run in a friendly atmosphere and family participation is encouraged, whilst the discipline of the traditional martial art is always observed. As a supplement to Karate training, kick and punch bags are used to focus power.

Events
​
Tokon Kai Karate has a specially selected squad of students who compete at local, National and International level.
​
Social events are held throughout the year, Easter and Christmas to build unity between the different club locations.
Chief Instructor is Sensei Jo Griffiths-4th Dan, who has been teaching and training for 32 years in Shotokan Karate.
​
Sensei Griffiths has won world titles in kumite and national and international titles in kata and kumite.
​She is assisted by a team of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dan instructors.
​
All instructors are DBS checked and insured. The club has a child protection policy.
Incentive Schemes
​
Incentive schemes are in place to recognise students’ hard work.
​
A scheme is in place for juniors to receive bronze, silver and gold endeavour awards.
There are also long service awards presented each year.
